Depression with Multiple Sclerosis

   DEPRESSION

How can this be? All the medications that I am on to help me manage the symptoms of my MS and I am still depressed?
I was taking Zoloft for a few years for depression after my husband had a stroke. He had an amazing recovery but with permanent unseen symptoms (just like MS, you don't look sick). Taking Zoloft seemed to balance my emotional and mental well being.
My GP decided it was time to switch my medication, I just kept feeling sad all the time with crying spurts. Did not want to take a higher dosage of Zoloft because it made me feel 'Loopy'. So I weened off Zoloft, DO NOT DO THIS COLD TURKEY!, so I could start Citalopram. This has helped me greatly.
So, yes you can still be depressed even when you are on meds. Talk to your doctor to discuss your options to help you feel better. I am glad I did.
